why do ppl bore to 81.5?

Default why do ppl bore to 81.5?

is there any performance gain in a .5 over bore when ur boosting a motor that has been bored to 81.5 ?

im sure there is a minute performance difference that dynos cant even read. Its to get a fresh cylinder wall surface so the rings seat right.

the reason is to get the proper fit with 81.5 mm pistons so your **** won't sound like a diesel with 81mm forged pistons in a loose stock bore..

That was the 2nd biggest NooB question I ever heard....just playing, I run an 81.5mm beacuse I fried all my pistons and melted them and scored my sleeves. It is pretty much standard to overbore on a fresh motor to clean the walls up and achieve good ring seal

I know a guy that has an 81mm Sleeved GSR in his hatch and he just bored it out to 85mm!! I hope it last considering he is going to be running a T3/T67
