Why do i get a cel with safc and 450's at 10psi?
hello everybody.
i have a d14a4 engine and when i'm reving hard i get a map cel. what can cause that? i ususly boost at 6-7 psi but sometimes it peaks to 10 psi.
the tuner set the safc like this:
cyl: 4 thr: north east
------------------------------------
sensor type:
pressure
in: 05 out: 06 (isnt it suppose to be 06\06?)
------------------------------------
TH Point:
LO:50 HI:60
------------------------------------
Grph scl:
PR: 760mmHg
NE: 7000rpm
CR: -+3%
-----------------------------------
Dec Air:
THR: ****%
NE1:10.0%
NE2:10.0%
----------------------------------
WHAT COULD BE WRONG?
also i will post a pic of my spark plugs later on.... i need opinion on them too.
best regards moshik galimidi

no i dont...
but i dont think i need one if i have the safc....
can somone confirm this?

you do not need a missing link w/ the hack
you should have it set as pressure, 6 in 6 out, that's probably why

Yes you do. Your ECU still reads from your MAP sensor. Once you hit boost, the MAP sensor thinks something is seriously wrong, throws a code, and goes into limp mode.
Gotta get a missing link

Yes, it should be 6/6 but the rest of your settings are fine. Trust me, a check valve will solve your prob.

no it will not. it could toast his motor. stop giving out bad information.
the hack reads the stock MAP sensor signal, reduces the voltage, and sends it on to the ECU.
running check valves or a missing link will not allow the AFC to compensate fuel for boost and you will run lean.

thanks.
but anyhow... what could it be other than the press in\out?[/

Fill me in then. I'm running the VAFC hack to control fuel for my setup. Kept throwing codes as soon as I hit 4-5 psi. AS FAR AS I KNOW, there is no setting on the VAFC that will interrupt/alter the signal from the MAP sensor.

And how will that blow my motor. The VAFC is controlling fuel for the RPM range I set.... not amount of boost.

you my friend should use the search function and look up afc hack. it will answer all your questions about it, since you really do not understand how it works. i would type it all out, but since theres already plenty of info on this site, i will be lazy.

that is pretty much all the AFC does. it interupts the map sensor signal. thats why you scale it down using negative values on the afc to give it room to see not only vac but boost as well.

plugs look ok to me, what is your concern with them?
did you change to 6in 6out? did it fix the problem?

You dont need the missing link with an afc hack.. The afc modifies the map signal and sends that to the ecu so it isnt going to see boost until your over 10psi..

i dont know... i think thay look like thay way too hot or lran? (check out thr 3rd pic)
i didnt changed it (and didnt driven the car) yet cause i'm a bit concerned about the spark plugs,
also, i have a air/fuel gauge (yes i know its sux) but when i go into boost it stays on "optimum" not rich,
according to what i read i suppose to see the gauge gose rich under boost.

ur hitting the max reading of the MAP sensor wich will cause u to trow a CEL even on the hack
happened to me
i changed from hack to turboedit, but on the hack it only gave me CEL if i really dropped gear and get 11 psi
now i have a 2.5 BAR map sensor and it doesnt do it

you should definitely see the gauge go rich under boost.
are the tips of the plugs white or tan colored? tan is OK, white I'd be concerned. Did you pull these plugs immediately after a WOT run or after you got home?
You should do a full throttle run and turn the car off before you get off the gas, coast to a stop, and then pull the plugs for a true reading.
what is your fuel correction set to? -35 to -40 range?

the tips of the plugs are more like bear metal,
and yes i pulled them after i got home.
fuel correction is -30 to -40 range. (and another thing, at LO THR the 1000rpm line was set by the tuner to -32 or -35 and i had irratic idle, after i raised it up to -28 or -29 the idle was more stable, what can cause that?)

maybe you were running too lean @ idle? not sure...

it's a little low to me, yep, I'm guessing you have an adjustable FPR?
go change to 6in and 6out and let us know if your code is gone.
