Default why am i running lean?

i am using a 12:1 fmu for fuel and my boost is set at 6 lbs. i notice when i drove my car to get it painted, that driving around town i was running fine but when got out to open road and crusied around 55 ,60 mph my gauge showed that i was running lean, but when i gave it some more gas it ran i little better, is it suppose to be like this, i still have stock fuel pump and injectors, could my injectors be clogged?, i have heard about fmu dupping gas in spurts and dont give a steady flow. what do i need to do? new to this turbo stuff , but luv it.
