Default Who's using Water Injection?

Hey I've just been reading a bunch of stuff on h2oinjection.com and I was wondering if anyone here is running water/alcohol mix injection. What have you seen for results? Worth the time and money?

I dont think people have much success with water injection unless they run high boost/high temps. However I have been looking into something of the sort and propane injection seems to be what Im looking for. It has an oxygen rating of 110 so its like cheap race gas. I would research that instead.

I think its defnitly worth the time/money if you are on the edge of detonation. I think we'll be seeing more water injection here in the next year or two on H-T.

Yeha there was a guy on the site with a DSM running WI and propane. The forum didn't have a response from him to let everyone know how it worked out but it had pics of his setup. I actually just found out that gasoline F/I engines could use propane, I always thought it was for diesel. I'm definitely going to do some more research on the propane thing. Anyone in HT using this?

I have a friend with a vr4 that used water injection, and now propane injection. Seems to work fine for him It's like race gas when you need it but still filling up with 91.

Check this out: http://www.importpoweronline.c....html

$300 shipped for the propane injection kit. Check out the graphs for the vr4 that has the propane setup on it, almost all knock was gone at 20psi, and it allowed for another 4psi. Thats pretty nuts, I can't wait for someone on HT to try it and post some results!

A good friend of mine runs methanol injection on his DSM. Stroked to 2.3 litres, an FP3065 turbo, fully ported head + HKS cams, sheetmetal intake, AEM EMS, the works. Without meth we could run about 20 psi on pump gas with no knock. With an alky control progressive kit spraying 100% pure methanol, how does 27 psi sound? Sounds great to me.

After I get my bottom end built and get tired of 20psi I'm going to start off with water injection, and then maybe go water/methanol injection.

im tempted to try it but will be doing a little more reasearch before plunging in. I know of a 2.0 b16 that made over 550whp on 93 octane using alchy/water injection

i have a buddy with a stock block turbo rsx using 50/50 water/methanol injection. his 550's injectors were maxed out at 9psi. then he got the injection system to up the boost without detonating or leaning out. he is now using 12psi and makes 303whp. so in my opinion i think it is worth it and i'll be getting it soon. check out snowperformance.net

The snow kit is overpriced, don't waste your money on it. You can build a DIY kit with all the exact same parts for 150 bucks cheaper, and their customer service sucks.http://www.alkycontrol.com/ is the only way to go, for 350 bucks you get a progressive kit with an awesome controller, great customer service, and high quality parts. Blows snow out of the water.

my buddy has a ka24de turbochaged 240 and he used water injection with out intercooling for a while (now intercooled also) and it worked awsome lowered intake temps a ton. I deffnitly think its worth it. Im seting up a system to go on my ls turbo right now and my buddy is gunna do the same on his d16 turbo. Ill post pictures when we get them done.

I have been brainstorming this for a while too.

I want to use a direct shot wet fogger setup and spray propane. And use the hobbs switch to controll it.

As soon as a I hit a designated psi the propane will kick in letting me run fairly high psi on pump gass.

I'm pretty sure Jackson Racing discontinued the water injection kits. Oil and water don't mix.....

Thats the ticket right there IMO. With propane the problem is you have a big *** tank of propane in the back - i guess people drive around with NOS but propane has a different style of bottle. Maybe its just as safe i dont know. Its also somewhat expensive.

Meth is like $15 for 5 gallons - stuff is cheap. There was a guy here on honda-tech that put down 512whp @ 26psi on 91octane with 50/50 water/meth injection. He was using the DerekDevises kit. http://www.derekdevises.com/ Super guys have been using it forever and love it. There is lots of 600 and 700whp supras running around on pump gas with meth/water injection. By mixing 1/2 water its super cheap. Its all pluses.

There is nothing wrong with propane bottles in your car, they are DOT approved and it is cheaper to refil than meth injection.

Didnt know they are DOT approved. Cool. I donno about it beating cheaper though. I guess it dependson how long a full bottle lasts.
