Re: Who is running the highest mileage on their boosted car? (DB2)
do you mean, how many miles have you been boosting? or how many miles did your car have when you decided to boost? just not sure what you mean.
answer to first-150 miles
answer to second 126,000

Re: Who is running the highest mileage on their boosted car? (gsrt)
I shouldn't be posting since its not boosting it yet.. but I'll be running boost next year as a test before the rebuild.
By then, I imagine it'll have over 210,XXX.
It's very possible to run moderate boost (12psi) on a high mileage motor without losing seal on the rings or head gasket. Rod & crank bearings will take a beating though. I've done several leak down tests on this motor ever since 163k miles, and it has been the same:
1.54 r/s
#1 - 98.5%
#2 - 98.0%
#3 - 97.5%
#4 - 98.25%
@ 196k miles
Im certain that it'll run just as well as a boosted 2000 mile LS.
Just relieve crankcase pressure, run different oil, and keep it tuned well.

1997 GSR
95,000 - JRSC 6psi, 01-2002
137,000 - 10psi, 251WHp, 181 lb-ft, 01-2003
153,000 - still running strong today, loses less than half a quart every 5000 miles...

Damn, I didn't realize some of you guys have as many miles as you do. That's awesome. I would really be worried about seal on the rings mainly, but I guess that isn't an issue here.

Re: (Blue-Civic-Hybrid)
Odometer says 207,000. The motor has maybe 50k? I boosted a while on the single cam. Things haven't been working out too well for me with the b-series lately. Just a matter of figuring out why I'm losing coolant before I get a good tune on it.

Re: (rioninja)
YAh that seems a bit extreme to me as well. I would like to know too. I know you havent gone 160,000 miles on it you must mean your car says 160000 miles...but how long have u been running that
#25
I rebuilt the block with 154k miles on it, still stock sleeves though so the sleeves themselves have about 160k miles of wear and tear on them. Boosting on it since then, i run 20-24psi w/ a 60-1 and speedpro.
