Just wondering what the advantages or reasons for getting an electronic boost controller??? they cost hundreds of dollars and have more possibilities for boost spiking than manual ones....
Why get electronic, when you can hook up a Turbo XS manual for 70 dollars, or if needed you can hook up a manual Variable boost controller in cabin ... ???
I see a WRX running consistent 12.5 's in the 1/4 mile using the 70 dollar Turbo XS manual boost controller....
Why do people spend hundreds on Electronic ones ???

Oh, and to answer the question. I would go with the profec b all the way. Another nice one is the HKS EZ, which can be found in the same price neighborhood as the profec
Anyone I've ever known or heard of having a MBC has had boost spikes like you wouldn't believe... constantly turbo XS or not they all spike, and spike = death to a motor sometimes.... I only hope electronic ones DONT f up as much, but I wouldn't know, I run low boost so a BC isen't needed, and tial is a great wg so I trust their product.
You still didnt answer my question... I am just curious what the advantages or why the reason people spend hundreds on the electronic ones???
If the manual ones are so bad why do I see 12 second cars using them ???

I have an electrical two stage homemade boost controller
it consists of a turboXS MBC, and a dual solonoid electric switch from "dawes devices" in cockpit boost controll for around 100 bucks.

pics please
the 3 prongs are "input, out to wastegate, and out to MBC"
the MBC line is tee'd back into the wastegate line. when the switch is flipped the default "wastegate" line is closed so pressure runs through the MBC line.
its too bad you cant get the apex avcd anymore..i bought it new for $240 at importparts.com.
Its awesome..i wish i bought two my eclipse could use one.

you want a cheap boost controller go to home depot and get a one way valve from the plumbing section hook up a T between the vacuun hose, between the in put and out put singal to the waste gate, run the vacuun hose inside the car and hook the one way valve.....there you have it a cheap *** way to to control boost.....................
but a manual like that isnt gonna hold the wastegate open to the last second, resulting in more spool up time.

cheapest electronic is gonna be the greddy profec-B. I like manuals though, u cant beat a manual for the price. but I have decided to stick with the profec-B because I like the idea of being able to switch off high boost when i dont need it.

CHEEPEST MANUAL dual boost controller out there.
This is what I'm going to be using with my setup.
Works just like the TurboXS but it's not shiny so the price is WAY lower.
Set a low point of boost(switch off) and a high point of boost(switch on).
I don't need no stinkin $300+ electric thingy.
