who has 300+whp????
I was considering a ls-turbo setup, but recent polls here have leaned my towards a b16a-turbo setup. I just wanna know if anyone has gotten this much HP on a dyno run. IF you pushin over 300 I would love some pointers.

Re: who has 300+whp???? (yusoslo)
In order to push over 300whp you will need to replace those pistons & throw a block guard in.
After 340 or so replace the rods.
After 389 you should sleeve it and get rid of the block gaurd.
Then your good for up to 550 before you have to replace the crank with a forged one.
This is a chart I use.
But I have to note, this chart may not be right. But it is what I USE.
This should be for all b-series motors
250 - 299 whp : Block Gaurd
300 - 339 whp : Block Guard & Forged Pistons
340 - 389 whp : Block Guard, Forged Pistons, & Rods
390 - 559 whp : Sleeves, Forged Pistons, Rods
560+ whp : Sleeves, Forged Pistons, Rods, Forged Crank.
Or course the b18c modles will be better because of the oil squirters.
You will also have to beef up your head.
Dual valve springs
Ti retainers
New valve seals
Stainless steel valves
The motor should be able to handle some serious power.
Either motor you choose b18b or b16a will make 300whp fairly easy. It's all about home much boost and what turbo you use...
This is a 300+ WHP setup.
B16A or b18b:
Forged Pistons - $500
Eagle Rods - $350
Golden Eagle Block Guard - $100
Portflow Ti Retainers and Dual Valve Springs - $320
Max Rev Turbo Kit w/ upgraded t3/60-1 .63 trim turbo - $2,400
Hondata Stage s100 Engine Management - $450
660cc Injectors - $500
Fuel Pump - $100
After 340 or so replace the rods.
After 389 you should sleeve it and get rid of the block gaurd.

Re: who has 300+whp???? (yusoslo)
get a B18c and run it stock. 11psi you should make over 300whp. its all about the right sized turbo tuned through a good fuel system. turbo and fuel system, turbo and fuel system. turbo and fuel system.
ryan- stock honda cranks are forged from the factory. also u dont need a block guard for 250whp, as a matter of fact jinxproof above did what? 400+whp w/ out block guard on stock sleeves?.
oh and btw, that chart is a little off, i would suggest getting a new chart.

Re: who has 300+whp???? (NHB Fighter)
It seems I have never heard of someone unintentionally breaking a honda crank.
Crank for me would not be a concern unless my car was all out race...and even then it would have to be making SERIOUS hp.

Looking to push the 300whp mark with a bigger intake manifold, some c16 and taking it to 7500rpm. Stock LS motor.

My good friend Nirmal did 420+ Wheel HP on his 1.8L integra with no sleeves and no block guard.
So I know it can be done. But as you can tell. I like to be Safe.
no one said you couldn't be overly safe rigth?

The c16 is just for safety measures. I want to run 1 bar at the track with race gas so that's what i'm going to tune for. It may be a while, but i'm thinking about using some Crower 6240T cams and valvesprings before i get back on the dyno. Chris, you should come down to houston next time i'm there for the dyno. Should be a good race between you and me

Re: who has 300+whp???? (DIRep972)
thanks guys for the info. Ryan, your information sounds very sound. I too would rather wait, save the money, and do it right so I dont have to fix things after it is installed. I take this approach to everything i do to my car. Will high 12's or low 13's be possible if I hit my 300 hp goal in a 95 civic dx coupe ??? Just wondering.

Re: who has 300+whp???? (lazerus)
Sounds good to me guys. One more question. If I get the b16 and boost it, what is the difference between the 1st gen (89-91) and the second gen b16's???? I like cable trannys and the 1st gen is 1,000 bucks cheaper. Will I still be able to get 300hp with a first gen?????

With that car, if you have 300 WHP, on a good track you will hit like 12.9 or so on a good pass with slicks.
Thats of course, if the car was totally stock and your like 180 lbs.

the trap speeds for a 300whp car that wieghs about 2700lbs w/ driver should be close to 113-115.

88-91 civic or crx 11's all day with 300whp on slicks 1800-2200lbs
92-95civic i was thinking mid to low 12's with 300whp if not gutted so 2200-2400lbs
in a 94-00 teg i was thinking mid 12's with about 2600-2750lbs
i could be wroung tell me what you think direp972
