Most likely talking about when you bypass the coolant line from the throttle body. People say they usually gain HP on a NA car with that mod. It is used to heat the air to aid in cold start up comditions if I understand correctly.

I don't have coolant going to the FITV or the IACV and it is fine. I didn't notice any difference in how the car runs even in freezing cold weather.

I used to do that back in the day w/ DSM stuff
who knows what kind of Gains it makes.
After a Long Drive you can Grab the inake manifold and it stays pretty cool.

I bypassed the coolant line going through my TB and IACV and everything works great.. Only thing I noticed is if your spraying your car and you let off the TB after spraying it will stick shut a little..
