Who does good block sleeving?
Just wondering who does good block sleeving. I have 84mm aries pistons and need to send block out of state (no one does it here in Hawaii)(as far as I know). Wondering who is the best "Bang for the buck". Also wondering if o-ringng it is needed. New to this so just wondering. I am going to turbo this block. Let me know some input.
Thanx

Used RS 3-4 years ago for an H22 turbo build. Bad advice on cr (running 10:1 Arias) and they neglected to align bore the mains. The shortblock had to be torn down, align bored and all clearances checked by a local shop.
When I received the shortblock - it was locked up and wouldn't turn over. Hopefully things are better there now. At the time they apparently were having some major problems, were just relocating and had changed some staff. The guy who was their main machinist seemed pretty knowledgeable.
They did leave sleeves a few thousandths above the deck. This is not the same as softer copper o-ringing and can lead to some seal probs. the deck was leveled and the engine has run well ever since.

Ge,erl or benson I went with a local shop that said they can do it and I am on my third block he has cracked the cylinder walls twice installing the sleeves.Don't think he has the knowledge a bigger place with better equipment does.
I sentmy block to Darton in CA where they did awesome work, all done and back to me it cost 1200, including the parts, labor, and shipping. maybe not the cheapest way to go, but it sure was money well spent.
