622 WHP on a stock B16 head: Click Here
I believe Courtney Green made like 645 WHP on a stock B16 head, Cams, IM and TB. It's very possible to make big power w/o Head work.

stock head and valves work well for big power......but i would at least upgrade the valve springs and retainers just to be on the safe side.....

...i see it everyday. u can make big power on complete stock head. you just have to keep stock rev. @ 81-8200 rpms. i personaly have seen 450whp on nothing more than head studs and a thick *** head gasket. completly stock ls botom end. its all in the race gas and the TUNE via hondata.

My car makes 555hp at 26psi. Stock GSR head, cams, throttle body, Venom intake manifold. It actually made 605hp, but was on the lean side, so it was backed down to 555.
