White Smoke from time to time
Is this bad? because i am not experiencing any changes in performance, and i am afraid if i do not take action it will kill my engine in the future.
my exhaust gives out white smoke from time to time, but not all the time. from the beginning my tuner told me its the turbo. what in particular in the turbo? should i get it fixed? what are the cons in ignoring this? are there any other cause for this? TIA

two things;
turbo seals blown
or
valve stem seals
or valve stem guides
check to see if there is oil in cylinders, oil glaze

probably none of the above..
white smoke? coolant = probably going under very soon.. suggestion? get coolant pressure check to see where the leak is.. probably nothing you can do at this point except for ease of so it lasts longer
stock block? either sleeves or cracked head..

yes smartee pants, everyone may assume coolant right off the bat because it is White, but that does not necessarily mean its coolant, if it is white and smells sweet more than likely it s coolant.
I had blown seals on my turbo and it smoked white, there could be several reasons for this. Oil may at some point burn white, then black if it has been used for a bit. Try putting in fresh oil in a smoking car and see what color it is.
my friends GSX had a blown turbo seals and it burned white, replaced turbo and boom no more white smoke.
I had bad valve stem seals and again it smoked white.
faced!

When does it smoke?...in boost/part throttle or is it at idle?
Have you noticed a loss of coolant in the overflow or is overflow filled to the top after a hard run?

- Recently i observed the smoking, and it only smoke one time bigtime during my travels. and it let out smoke like hell! only white. not in boost. in part throttle or idle only.
- everyday i go to work which is about 18km from my house. my car will smoke ONE TIME BIGTIME in about 16km when i stop or during part throttle. after a few seconds, no more smoke.
theories guys? TIA

when my car did that... lol... i feel so stupid now... but i didnt realize intake and exhaust valve seals were different... and you guessed it.. white smoke out the *** from the improperly installed valve seals.
learnt that one the hard way

Re: (eg:R)
^^ the car is tuned
i guess its the valves seals. but ill also check tomorrow if there are oil in the charge pipes, bec it also might be the turbo.
thanks for the replies

My car smoked similar with a turbo with blown seals, it would smoke at idle, rarely at high speed. check the center section of the turbo to see if oil is coming out. Another suggestion would be to put syntethic and you'll find out if it is the seals on the turbo, that oil can find a leak anywhere.
HOwever, since i've had this problem before, the car smoked when it had bad exhaust valve stem guides which i replaced and boom, no more smoke. good luck
