The ultimate setup for your stock b16a is going to have these specs. These specs are the same for Garrett, Turbonetics, or Precision.

Exhaust side:
.48 A/R housing (Stage 3 wheel)

Cool side:
.60 housing w/ .57 compressor wheel (TO4E)

You will see spoolup around 2700 or so and full boost by 3800. You will be very happy. Now if this was going into a GSR, Type R, LS, or B20, then I would recommend you upgrade the exhaust size to a .63A/R (Stage 3 wheel as well).

Thanks Killa.... that really gave me a better idea in regards to comparing these two.... Like you, i too see the pro's and con's about the setups.... one thing you said though:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 95stangkillah &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I like my setup</TD></TR></TABLE>

I dont mind a little customization to make the turbo fit... i work in a machine shop, so cutting metal is in the blood. Also, i so rarley race downtown (cops are thick here) that most of my fun is done on the highways and backroads....

One thing that helped me figure all of this out too, is just driving around and paying attn to my style of driving.... I noticed that the only time im below 4k is when im taking off from a stop sign.... other than that, its high revs for me pretty much all the time.

ITRpwrdEG..... thanks for the info on the spool up time.... for one reason or another, i was under the impression that i wasnt going to see boost until 6k, thats why i even considered the Greddy.

Thanks for the replies

good thing that you are at least making an educated choice, and not just going off what is popular on HT, or what people say, etc.

I got my setup with the car, but i think if i had a choice. for my driving style, the greddy would have been great for me.

either way, have fun.

Here is my 2 cents.
I had a strait t3 (.42/.48 saab) on my b16a it would start to spool about 1900rpm and have full boost (7psi) by about 2,800rpm. I've since upgraded to a t3t40E (.57 trim .63 a/r) at 7psi it pulled harder then my old set-up at 10psi (would run 10psi at the track).
It starts to spool about 2,000rpm and has full boost by about 3k rpm (9psi, not sure when it reaches full boost now since i run 13psi now)....
As far as spool-up there wasn't much difference, power wise it was a world of difference.
According to my times.....
I estimate my t3 made about 185whp @10psi and the newer t3t4 makes 248whp @9psi (dyno proven).
I ran 13.7 with the t3 @ 10psi and 13.5 with the t3t4 9psi...then t3t4 dyno'd @ 198whp..(before tuning)...what tis means to your? I don;t know i'm just sharing my experience.

Carol Shelby once said, "If you have turbo lag, your driving the car wrong"

Just a fun little qoute.

B16ahybrid once said "turbo lag equals traction control off the line"
Another fun little quote.

There really is no "perfect" once size fits all turbo it all depends upon each individual.
I will give a little spool time to make more top-end, while others want little or no spool instead of higher top-end.

both seem valid to me
