Default where to tee

i have a zex wet kit im installing tommorow and im stuck on where to tee in for the fuel.. i know you can tap the fuel rail but i dont wanna do that. the kit came with a brass "T" fitting to go inline with the fuel line either coming from the filter to the rail, or the fpr to return. im leaning towards teeing that line from the filter to the rail but i need some back up on it.. thanks for any helpful responses guys
