I'm a big fan of diy. I chipped my ecu and the only soldering I've done was with wires. It wasn't too bad...the only hard part is desoldering. I used a junk ecu to practice on. Just make sure you have some idea what your doing if you try.
Setting up uberdata is not really hard its just a hassle finding all the different things you need. Make sure you have a good soldering iron some wick and you'll be all set.

I guess even insects like buggy software. Seems to be the trend on H-T too.

I didn't mean it in a good way...
Theres some instances where hondata just isn't the answer..Then what? Uberdata fills that void. Personally ive had nohting but sucess with uberdata on my car. The only bugs ive experienced were minor and required just alittle more patience on my part to resolve. Ive setup a few of my friends cars with uberdata with nothing but sucess too...If you ask me it well worth the savings over what hondata can cost you.

Ya, I've had a lot of problems running Uberdata's "buggy software" in my ECU for the past half a year... getting through the smog sniffer test without any problems for the first year ever... breaking 13s with a b16 under the hood... yeah, it's horrible... never use Uberdata, little gremlins told me it was bad
I also chipped my own ECU... just take your time, it's easy enough if you go slowly, and make sure you get good solder penetration through both sides of the PCB
