i need a turbo rebuild i live in virginia. i am looking for a legit good shop to do my rebuild. looking for the cheapest place but will also use good parts! let me know of any places you know of! preferebly on east cost but tell me places everywhere and there prices. the turbo is a AiResearch T3 50 trim .48 A/R

most reputable places will charge about $350 for the full rebuild, and will not "piece meal" with only the smaller parts.

it would be cheaper to find another one of those at the junkyard or in the classifieds for cheap or depending on what engine its going on i may be able to help you with a better option than paying to rebuild the turbo you have..........you could get one there for probably about 50 bucks

rebuilding is not worth it. Its alot of work!
Sure, alot of people will tell you can even do yourself. just buy a rebuild kit and slap it in there. This is not true if you want the turbo to last. The only way Id rebuild is if it was a rare or extremely expensive OEM turbo. Otherwise, dont bother. This is my opinion, anyways.

Part of that statement above is not really true - YOU can do the rebuild provided that you KNOW what you are doing and I agree on the fact that most people do not really know that this is not like changing your valve cover gasket or something. I agree that if you cannot find your turbo anywhere then it would be advisable to rebuild UNLESS you want to re-tune for a new turbo (that is if it is a different size)
