Default Where can i get a t2/3?

Where can i get a t2/3 turbo kit for an integra? seems like the market is saturated with t3/4's. Help me out.

LOL, I don't think they make t2
they made a T25 or T28 ( for eclipses), it's kinda useless to hybrid a T25/T28 to T3 or T4, but I think with the right trim it can be done, I believe forced performance made a T28/TD05 hybrid for eclipses/galant upgrade...they call it the "green" turbo..
don;t quote me on it, one of my DSM friend told me about it..

I guess you want a T28 which is a T3 compressor mated to a T25 ex side. If your aren't driving a D15B don't bother with this turbo because you will not have any top end whatsoever!!

So i'm assuming a t2/3 is ridiculously small. So then I'll ask this forum like I asked the ITR forum. What turbine can I use for auto-x'ing? Most of the ITR guys said to get a small ball-bearing turbo so as to minimize spooling time and maximize quick response. Define small. I thought t2/3 would perfect since it's good for 10 lbs max. I won't and probably can't boost beyond that on my stock engine anyways. thoughts ,comment?s

There is reason why the market is saturated with t3/t4 becuase its the best combo for most honda motors. Anythign bigger and honda motors may not even spool up the turbo. I mean sure a b-series may spool up a t4 but its not as good as the t3/t4 combo. Any smaller and you wont get that great of high ends. Get the greddy small turbo's the t304's i think . Those would be great for autoX

straight T3 should do the job for a street pounder.. super 60 compressor with a stage 3 ex blade and AR.63 housing will breath good!!

Small turbos spool fast BUT they run out of juice before B series engines reach full power potential. This is why T4/T3's work so well with our engines..

T2 is way too small, hence their nickname T2small. T3 is fine.....The only thing is that you will have to get the right one. Learn how to read a compressor flow chart in order to buy the right turbo for your motor. I would think that since you have an R, you will want to boost all the way to redline. Smaller turbo's will run outta steam, so to say, at lower RPM's and eventually just flow hot air into your motor while your putting a hurting on the turbo itself because of all the heat its producing.
Come on man, do some calling around--dont be cheap. I always make fun of R owners cause they think they have the ultimate honda--just cause they got the money to toss around. If you got the money, do it right the first time. No need to go through the aggravation of switching turbos a week after the wrong one is installed the first time!

Would a T3/T4 still be good sized even for a LS engine since it redlines at 6800? Sounds like a T3 might be better for the b18b since the engine doesn't flow as much as the b18c

Nobody seems to understand. You need to match the turbo specs to the motor. If you just have a T3, you would need to find out turbine/compressor trims and housings to find out if this is the turbo for you. Not all T3/T4's will be good either. From turboneticsinc.com page: "The T3 / T4 HYBRID’s offers the low inertia and fast boost response of the light weight T3 turbine wheel and the high airflow characteristics of the T4 compressor family, making the T3/T4 HYBRID the turbo of choice for high performance “import” applications. "
Basically saying since we have low flowing motors, exhaustwise it will spin the turbo faster via a T3 turbine wheel/housing. The extra flow of a T4 compressor wheel/housing for the boost.

Wanna learn how to do this, then go here https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=96443 . This is not for the faint hearted, ignorant peeps.

In addition, I am doing a junkyard turbo kit. Unfortunately I started buying **** without doing major research on turbochargers. Now I purchased a T3 from Ebay. Only to find that "yes" it'll work, but just wont work well (too small basically).
Evidently a good rule of thumb in looking for used turbo is to go with the Ford Thunderbird straight T3 w/ a 60 comressor housing.

say 93LSivic you never replied about the usefulness of that thread, did it help you understand how to read maps and select comressors any? I wasn't sure if any of that stuff made sense to you.

Actually it helped me figure out exactly how a turbo is properly applied to given motor. Unfortunately I havent had the time to sit and go through all you explained. Figure I need a good couple hours of attention to your schooling and a good nights of sleep before I attempt it--this hasnt happened in the past week, but I saved it on my computer and will use it in the future and hopefully be able to point others in the right direction (as I am trying in this thread).
Sorry, I never even had a chance to thank you for this. As I was reading I was thinking that this is some of the most useful information I received from a board memeber yet.......Brings a tear to my eye! Thanks man Cheers to you

stop it man! your embarassing me!

I think I remember you saying that you had your own copy of Maximum Boost, if you do turn to Chapter 3 pages 23-34 that was pretty much what I went over, that is where I learned iall this ish. before I read through that section I knew very little but now.... you can read at your leasure whever you have the time, he might even be able to explain it better than me. you might still need to reference my CFM to LB/MIN conversion number to apply that knowledge in real life.

CFM to LB/MIN = CFM x 0.070318 = LB/MIN (this is assuming that the air is 112* degrees)

Liters to Cubic Inches Displacement = # of Liters x 61 = CID

glad I could help you
