When exactly is the ATI dampener needed?
I see some people use them and some don't. Mostly high HP cars seem to be using them on this forum but I'm just wondering when exactly when is it advised to run one of these? Is it a HP threshold like 500? Or a RPM based? I have to buy a new crank pulley anyways, just didnt know if it was worth going this route as well.
Thanks HT!

I think it is more for aftermarket internals then it is for horse power. I'm sure there are people with forged internals not running one but most people do it for insurance. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but that's why I have one on my built DC2.
Well when everything is done, my new block will have forged rods/pistons. It is currently in the parts gathering stage for boost, and the shop im having doing most of the work for me said they would also balance my rotating assembly and blueprint it as well for free since i've been using them for everything else.
Im just wondering if i NEED one, or is just something you guys opt for "just cus"

a fluid dampener is one of thosoe things that isnt completely necessary. but good investment. we assume honda balances rotational assembly as well as crank. by changing your stock parts for aftermarket this makes rotational mass change= unbalance the stock harmonic balancer can only do so much and also deteriorates over time. i would assume most honda guys dont buy new crank pulleys or harmonic balancers very often so why not. the harmonic imbalance can cause premature wear on bearings and etc(you read). on more side note if you get your block balanced and blue printed its not that important... its up to you if you got the cash why not? there is no horsepower boundary
