damn, everything is addicting... first, sound of the turbo spooling, bov, the push that pushes you back into the seat, and priceless victories against ricers and v8 domestics (for 300whp++ ppl)

Driving in vaccum sucks majorly, I like the fact that I can change my horsepower from a dial in my dash. Also it's nice cruising in second and being able to step on the gas and start burning out.

Re: When did you realize you were hooked on boost? (beta13)
I remember the first time i rode in my personal car turboed. Stock b16 in 88hatch. I put a turbo kit together in less than 14 hours and drove to the races that night and raced! Made the manifold and piping, after having a friend drop off an intercooler, blow off valve, fmu, and several trips to kragen and summit. I finally got it fired up and all the leaks fixed, backed out of my drive way and began to drive around the block, taking it easy for the first few hundred yards(don't wanna **** the neighbors off). Got onto a straight street and gave it gas. I was pissed, it wasn't pulling at all but sounded mean, then slowly shifted to second and tried again, still nothing, then it hit. I realized that it was simply spinning the tires! I got a good pull through second and that was it for me! Never again would I aim high allmotor! The pull is simply amazing, the light floating feeling of the front end is what does it for me!

Hooked on boost ever since I rode in a mr2 turbo and could barely look over the dash, I don't think I'll ever get over the sound of a spooling turbo

For me, it was a few years ago. I helped a buddy of mine fix a non-running car he picked up for next to nothing. It was a Triumph TR8. TR8? Boost? It had a buick Grand National V6 Turbo in it! After the first time I drove it, the turbo spooled, and had perma-grin for a day, I knew I had been taken to the darkside!
I then (about a year ago) boosted my teg... and now I want to boost everything!! My motorcycle, the crx, the jeep.. heheh.

Re: When did you realize you were hooked on boost? (shermanyang)
i always complained (after i got used to my car on boost) how it felt slow and i wanted more and blah blah blah...(i do want more, but thats not the point) ANYWAY, when i took off my turbo system and sold it, i cried like a little school girl. I've been without boost for 3 months and i'm going through withdrawal. A car without boost is just not worth driving.

You know you are hooked on boost when every car that you drive except yours feels SSLLLOOWWW>... you just keep waiting for boost threshold and it never comes...

Boost is addicting mainly b/c it can make any small displacement motor into a monster. If you guys ever drive a V8, boost isn't really needed. or even better, drive a viper v10

This isnt the reason im addicted to boost, but its a good reason why NA cars sucks. First time i took my car on the highway at 26psi, i was doing about 80mph in 4th, smashed the gas, and smoke started bellwoing out of the wheelwells until maybe 100mph. The transition from 100mph to 155-160mph felt like it was done in no time, probably because it was. How could someone not love that?

Same here. I have some JIC FLT-A2s on the way, hope they get rid of some of the torque steer. After that, I guess a Quaife is in line... So yeah, I guess I am a boostaholic since I spend way more on parts for my car every month than I do on food and socializing.
