What's with all this Greddy SoHC maniforl fitting on B series Motors?
I've been seeing this lateley greddy sohc kits retrofitted to fit into B series motors.
1. Are'nt the ports and manifold paaseges too small even if ported .?
2. The little turbo ca;nt handle the volume of exhaust gasses from a b series?
Someone clear this up because if this conversion if good I will definitly do it ., since the difference between a used drag kit for a Bseries avg around $2500 and a used sohc kit go for $1000-$1200
As an example this guy in FI classified was selling one.......

the bolt holes and the exhaust ports are ported to fit b-series
damn man, even if they are a BIT smaller, it shouldn't matter, if you cared about flow, you wouldn't go for a greddy SOHC kit with the 15G, you would go for a equal length manifold with a precision SC61

I dont think the exhaust gases are THAT much more with a bseries to worry about the greddy turbo "not handling it"
it all depends how much boost you'd want to run. I mean, a bigger turbo would be better sure, they are bigger motors.
but if your running under 10psi.. then it might be a-ok.
just my thoughts

Re: (Tad)
from comparing manifold flanges i've had in the past the b series and d series ports are spaced significantly different. I'd say atleast a 1/2" off on the two inner ports. Therefore, if it's ported to work on b series i'm willing to bet you'll have some sealing issues w/ the head to flange gasket.
