What will make a good base?

What will make a good base?
Hi,
I'm looking for a car to use as a daily driver and to modify. I plan on boosting the car and want to try to reach low 14's is possible. What engines would you recommend for this? Right now I'm thinking about getting a DA Integra LS and boosting it but still not sure. Which will respond the best to boost and still be fairly cheap? What's the motor that combines those aspects the best? Also, need it to handle boost reliably.
Thanks.

I'd say shoot higher. Even a stock 16 valve non vtec d series civic boosted can get you into the 13s, relatively reliably. If you get an LS, shoot for 300hp and you should at least meet your goals. As long as you take care to do things the 'right way' (make sure the car is tuned up and running tip-top, turboedit > fmu, synthetic oil, ~stock redline, etc..) you should be able to have a reliable boosted daily driver. good luck

Okay, thanks guys. If you guys could pick a motor to boost though what would it be? Just want to know as I haven't bought the car yet so I might as well buy the motor with the most potential/easiest. Oh yeah, I'd like it if it's no newer than 99.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I'd pick a Camaro or a Mustang, easy 14's. 13 second quarter mile passes if you push the gas pedal down all of the way.

Well, I'd like to stick to a Honda mainly beecause they get good gas mileage. I need good gas mileage for now at least since this will be my daily driver. Down the road when I do modify it I won't really care about gas mileage.
