What tranny should I run on my supercharged LS?
I have a LS integra with a JRSC and was wondering what tranny would you guys recommend I run in my teggy. The supercharger isnt on yet its getting rebuilt and im getting the S tube ported to 68mm. Should I keep my LS tranny or should I go with a GSR or Si tranny? I was thinking keeping my LS but im willing to take advice from the pros'. And please dont tell me to go turbo and how going turbo is much better. Thanks

Id prolly go with gsr tranny because its not too long gearing of a ls or too short of the si, just my thoughts personally. How you like sc vs a turbo set up?

True, but what about gas mileage while on highway? Id rather have gsr because you wont burn as much gas on highway vs the si trans..either tranny will work for you though

The ITR and the LS were rated at about 1 MPG difference on the highway when new. I don't think the LS tranny makes that big of a difference

They feel the same because they are on there factory motors. bet if you race a gsr with the stock tranny vs a gsr with an si tranny, the si will pull the gsr harder, and will be ahead of the gsr with factory tranny.
Anyway op, itll probably be best if you use gsr tranny.

I have tested just about every stock gear setup. straight gsr for under 500 or gsr with ls final drive over 500

Right, thanks for posting the chart man, i needed to see a chart of the trannies with the different gear ratios. But between the si and gsr, only thing thats the same is 1st, final drive, and reverse.. Regardless, gsr is the best tranny, si is good if you are doing the 100m dash.

That's something I was thinking of, running out of gear. But I don't think you'll have that issue with the JRSC on an LS in the 1/4 mile. The GSR seems to be the best bet. I'd go with what you can find a good deal on and make sure it has LSD.

I'm over 530whp, and could never keep up with an Evolution 9 GS-R with an LS final drive. Its a top end gear only to keep drag racers from going into 5th gear.

That's for DRAG RACING. An LS final drive would never compete in circuit or other street work. It would drop it out of its powerband for smaller turbochargers.

I cant post street racing on honda-tech, so im going to tell you it works. you could talk to anyone that has seen my car on the street. drop out of power when you are making over 500? that pretty hard to do when you are most likely fighting for traction anyways. it will not fall out of power, gear separation is the same but the car will be physically moving faster.
pm me if you would like me to show you some videos. one being a 35r EVO8 from a dig. and i didnt just keep up it was a train rape. thank you.
not trying to be an ******* but im letting you know it works and works well.

Lower final drive, longer gearing = slower accleration rate.
I'll PM you what I have.

****, I should go with a shorter 1st gear then. better 60s right? all the fast guys run b16 transmissions right? no, they do not.
what you are saying works with your pen, paper and calculator. what im saying works first hand with a lot of time and money spent to figure out what works the best. trust me if it was a 100 hp single stick yes very short gears are great, but a 500 plus hp 2200 lb car is not the case.

Vouch for Mr. Johnson. I'm not saying TheShodan is wrong in anyway but I've personally have seen Mr. Johnson's car in action, street and track. It works, extremely well. I've always have had a straight GSR Trans but I think this next year I'll be going with a LS final drive.

Re: What tranny should I run on my supercharged LS?
Wrote a whole big thing phone deleted it not retyping it. Gsr with 4.266 or 4.4 final drive. The 4.4 pulls harder than the 4.266 but little less traction down low. I've run both
