Default what thickness of steel for downpipe?

what do you all recommend. my friend and i are making our own downpipe. what thickness of steel should we get? its going to be 2.5" diameter

Stainless or Mild? Im sure 18 to 16 gauge be fine either.

We build them out of 14gauge.
