WHAT SIZE INJECTORS WITH UBER-DATA??
I have uber-data, and I have a Y8 w/r&p in a balanced bottom end and a built head, stock cam, with a precision t3t4 60 cold and 63 hot. I am planning on running 15 on pump. OK…
What size injectors should I use with the UBER data. as I have heard that anything bigger than 450's wont idle, AND my tuner wont do it with uberdata with anything bigger. I want to run 720's.
Would someone be kind enough to indulge me as to what the F*** is goin on? I hate rumours, and I wanna know what thhe deal is. Can I run 720's on uberdata? Anyone using them on uberdata right now?
Anyone?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I've done 880's on UD, why on earth wouldn't your tuner go higer than 450's?
And considering the leaps and bounds in improvments that Crome now posses over UD, it's not even a question these days, if you're gonna go "Freeware EFI", go Crome. You'll thank me later

I don't know wy my tuner is saying that stuff, he's a big HD and AEM guy, he runs 9's with his talon and sometimes he makes me feel small with my d-series...maybe he is creating an untimatum to push me towards a HD sell. Did you have nay idle problems or anyhting?

Nothing, nada. The car idle'd and drove an OEM car. Granted, for every smooth tune I've had w/ UD I've also had my share of headaches no question about it, but, to say "I won't over over 450cc" makes me think there's an alterior motive in his decision.
If you can tune a set of 450's, you can tune a set of 880's.

oh for sure, and I would rather die than run 450's...Ill be at 90 duty at 250 for god sakes, and that number would do nothing but make me angry! Maybe it could be his preference of software to use...

At 45psi of rail pressure you should be fine at 250-275whp, they don't max till just over ~300whp

Nope, UD supports 880's, after all I did it.

You can run 720cc's with Uber, but the real question is do you need to? 720's are good for around 425-500HP. Are you going to be making that much power with a D series and your turbo setup? DSM 450's are good for anywhere between 300-375HP., depending on your fuel pressure, duty cycles, etc. You want to match the injector size to your power goal.

My buddy has the exact same setup —720's, and at 300 he was at 80 duty...sounds fishy to me, and the tuner was commenting on how "thirsty" the D was; but thats why I was aiming at 720's, it was tried and tested in front of me. Im shooting for the mid 300 range on pump (i hope)

That's odd. With a set of 460's my GSR made 293whp at only 77 or 78% DC.

What EMS was your friend using? was it also Uberdata? cause the duty cycles can be off by as much as 10-20% in UD.

hmmm, maybe this means D series motors just have really high BSFC. Based on the numbers your friend has that would mean D series have a BSFC of around 0.65-0.70. If we were to use your friends BSFC then 450cc's would be good for 225-250HP, at 85% duty cycle. At base fuel pressure, 15 psi and 85% duty cycle the 720cc's should be good for 350-380HP. But something doesn't look right with your friends D series setup. Maybe you should contact beerbongkickass on here to see what he has to say.
well his setup is different now, he's 380 on race sleeved, with 780's. He's actually on this board...hold on let me find him.
Whats been said above is all true about my setup, for some reason, it seems the D series need lots of fuel. Not just my setup, other guys in town run into the same thing, high duty cycles on these D16 motors... Now it's not the tuner, because he has tuned a good bunch of 450+whp b-series with smaller injectors and still had plenty of injector to left. As said above, I think the BSFC is higher for some reason..?
