Default What should I do with my setup? Please Help!!!

When I drive my car it has no guts with the stock bore 81mm b16a2 with JE 8.8:1cr. I only made 240hp and 170tq at like 14psi and I was wondering if I should risk it and raise the boost to 18psi or sell the pistons and go with higher compression like 9.5:1 and run 15psi. I'm scared I going to crack the block if I raise the boost to much. Oh yea this is all tuned with Hondata Please give me some advice!!! My goal is 300hp!

you need bigger injectors!
go to a 720cc...
and get a real exhaust manifold, the drag manifold is very restrictive!!!

Why do I need such big injectors for? How's that going to help my hp #'s?... The most I would need is 550cc for 300-350hp!
Anybody else with some good advice that could help me out?

I have made 331hp on a bone stock B16A1 with only 13psi , so this is why I'm telling you your HP numbers are low... I realize your compression is lower, but at a higher boost level you are still way lower than what you should be.
Your HP numbers are affected by the injector size because if your injector is to small it will not support making big HP. Go here and do the math yourself... http://www.rceng.com/technical.htm#WORKSHEET
BH is crankshaft HP, so remember what you made was at the wheels which means that your crank HP will be higher... lets say 300hp an the crank with a 20% drivetrain loss.

I see... But why are my numbers low? Shouldn't I be at like 260-280hp with 14psi?
Somebody please explain why #'s are low

You should turn the boost up or get a better turbo.

WTF?

Does anyone base what their saying with actual information (in this thread and others)?

First off, your turbo is fine. More than fine. the SC50 is my favorite T3/T4 out there because of spool up rates, CFM's, and efficency.

Secondly your injectors are fine as well, but not for much more. they should be hitting around 80-90% duty cycle around 300hp.

Something is definetly wrong. Is this just a baseline run, or did you get "tuned" by someone? Could you post up your Dyno graph with the Air/Fuel chart?

You said your timing was stock. That may be hurting performance.

you must be on something! His injectors are not fine!
look at his air fuel ratio on the dyno chart, we run it around 11.0 or less.

That max Air/Fuel ratio is most likely when the car has initial throtal tip in (low RPMS not in boost). I am NOT saying that the car is tuned right, I'm just stating that the Max Air/Fuel really means nothing.

Looking at the graph, the tuning could be better (a straighter line around 12) but it does seem to be ok (under 13, and over 11).

Hrrmm.

Ok. What about your timing? You said it's "Stock"?

Did the tuner do anything with it? If no, why not?

The leanest point is 12.5:1 and the richest point is 11.6:1!

You should kick his ***. At least a .5deg retard per pound of boost should be setup on ANY turbo setup.

I'm surprised the motor hasn't blown.
