im new to honda-tech so bare with me. i own a 93 hatch with a d15b7 with over 300k miles. i own a d16z6 thats stripped down and ready to be built. so my question is should i build a boosted d16z6 or should i just swap and get a b18? i wont be able to boost the b18 for a while but i already have some of the parts to boost the z6. i would like some suggestions on which one i should do.

 

thats up to you man. what kind of power are you looking to make?

 

I would work with what you have already and boost the d16z6. its not a bad motor to begin with anyway.

 

i want around 350hp. i also need reliability. i dont know how reliable the eagle vitara is. also any cam suggestions? right now the block is completely tore down. i just cleaned it and got it honed because of a massive amount of rust on the cylinder walls. after all that pesky rust was gone i found scoring on all of the walls so im gonna have to bore it to 75.5mm. the crank also has rust. i dont know what to do about the rust on the crank because i dont have the proper tools to measure bearing clearance.

i just have a lot of questions so if you guys wanna help that would be awesome.

 

I've read that the zex cams perform well with boost. you should research them. take the crank to the machine shop and see what they think about it?
