i myself would go turbo due to a few reasons
1. quiet idoling quieter running
2. more reliable
3. more eficiant
4. dont take hp to make hp
5. it would be bad *** to drive a turbo stang i was thinking about it for myself as for a project car i already have a auto 5.0 just sitting there waiting for me to but boost on it

Yep sure is huh.
Wow just because i have a difference of oppinion I'm a typical domestic guy, hmm thats brilliant. I never said anything about turbo's sucking, or not making much power, both methods of forced induction are great but I prefer a sc over a turbo (the great thing is thats MY OPPINION) thats why it's call an oppinion.
I'm familiar with both, 96 gt runing 18psi with a turbo, and several sc'd 5.0's and a few 4.6's....Sure the turbo mustang is the fastest but thats because he's runing a lot more boost. reguardless....we all have a difference of oppinion no flaming needed.........typical ignorant remark

So, running more boost doesn't count? LOL! That sounds like people knocking on N2O and even boost in general, compared to all motor! Power is power. My opinion (one p) is that ESPECIALLY with a big torque car that you would want to power delivered later, as you can shred the tires all day on a decent big displacement car...as amusing as it would be to just roast rubber for minutes on end, that just won't get you across the line first...a TT v8 would be sick...good thing I'm puttin one in my civic

Well said...both the turbo or the charger...both methods would be great. If I were a rustang owner I'd probably be leaning toward the charger. It just seems like their is more support. (Factory supercharged, rousch, vortech etc.)
I've seen at least one sc stang every trip if made to the local track thus far....but I'd **** a brick if I ever saw a turbo'd stang.
On a side note I have two mustang racing friends (cobras), both run low 10 sec times on nitrous in their daily driven street trim...faster on slicks. My actual choice would be to run a set-up like theirs because it's a proven winner and they'd be able to help me tune, wrench, whatever.
My friends cobras both have funny license plate frames:
1. Firebirds taste like chicken.
2. I'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy.
lol...my damn hillbilly friends.....

thank you for you help player ya some of us have grone up there are pro's and con on each side. i love imports and they are more fun to mod and they are good on gas. I THANK EVERY ONE FOR YOUR HELP
Curious why people think the compressor on a turbo turns it's self... the turbine of a turbo creates back pressure which robs you of power too just like a belt driven compressor... I won't argue that the turbo doesn't do a better job, but lets not call it free power.

Agreed....It's not free power but I turbo creates/causes less of a restriction thus requiring less power to drive the unit. A turbo rely's on contraction and expasion as well as exhaust (byproduct of the internal combustion engine) to drive it, while a sc rely's only on a belt driven pulley......both are great ways of making power...
and I feel both are application specific
