What makes the greddy kit legal?
I know it has something to do with the fact it has a internal wastegate. What other parts make the kit as a whole legal? The reason i ask is if i can just get the parts that make the kit legal cheaper then i may not spend as much money on the kit by buying used parts and having others either fabricated or purchased used aswell. Thx for whatever info

well in california its legal cause greddy paid a fat fee to get it CARB approved. and yes, it does not vent exhaust gases (internal wastegate) or have a BOV with the kit which also is venting gas which would technically make it illegal.
so if you made all the parts yourself then you wouldnt be legal in california but theres a good chance you'd be legal in just about every other state.

I just thought the CARB sticker was only on the actual turbo itself? So if i bought that and the blue box, and whatever else made the kit legal then i figured i would maybe be ok.
