What magnaflow Muffler for turbo civic? SEARCHED!!
I searched "turbo exhuast" and got 17 hits. I read them and from what I got is Magnaflow seems to be a good brand to go with. My ? is what style of muffler, round, oval, or???? I have dual magnaflow ricer cannons on my hatch now but want something with a lil sleeper look to it. If anyone has the stock # of there muffler it would be nice. I read 14" length is the size and 3" in/out. I went to there site but do I look at domestic mufflers, cause the import section had shiny rice ones. And how does the sound compare to the average rice muffler? BTW it will get flat black paint ASAP so shiny isn't a must.

Re: (IslandSi)
Thanks for the replys. What was the sound like on the non race series, "2nd pic?"
The 2nd one is the one i'm looking at, plus I seen they have the 14" round 3" in/out. Does anyone have this one?
The best price I found for the non race series is $69.

wow that thing really hangs down there. why didnt you put a little tail pipe on it and tuck it up and under a bit more? That what I have done with 3" ovals before and it hid it much better.

Are you talking about hiding the muffler up more in the bumper and welding a smaller than the 3" tip onto in to it looks stock? Wouldn't that reduce the flow?
And what do these mufflers sound like? Ricey or just deep not loud sound or nothing at all? Thanks for the pics though looks good

nope. I mean putting like a 3" long 3" diameter tailpipe on it so the mufler body is 3" more foreward and out of sight. The last one i did i used one about that long and it looked pretty low key considering the size of the outlet. the can wasnt hanging out like in that pic thats all.

Thats what i did..I hid my "muffler" for a sleeper style and so that cops dont give me trouble..
Only that i really dont have a muffler in there..I just have a Dynomax resonator as a muffler.
Hidden under bumper.
Works great!!! Cops have stopped me on blockades and have looked at the rear bummper..They see no Fancy Mufler, they give me no ticket

Now the only ? is what does the muffler sound like compared to the normal sound of a rice can? </TD></TR></TABLE>
Well its straight through and all straight through mufflers are raspy and loud..Add a resonator to deepen the sound and get rid of rasp..

Re: (Mrspeaker)
go to KTELLER.com and pick up a 3" turbo muffler, They are Magnaflow branded, polished, free-flowing, not ricey and you can tuck them in real nice like. It has a 3" inlet and a 3 1/2" slight angle tip looks perfect on EKs
oh yeah $115
I love mine-great flow

Re: (Benjithx)
I got this one for $100! This thing sounds badass, it gives you a really deep sound, its real mean sounding kinda gurgling at idle and as you accelerate it has a smooth deep tone. Its pretty quiet considering i have 3'' exhaust no cat or resonator.

Re: (Benjithx)
I have used some of the Summit racing universal ovals with good results. They have copys of most of the major designs for around $50. I have been using a 2.5" 'turbo' muffler i got from them for $14 for a year now. sounds really deep is built a lot better than I expected. time for a 3" non-baffled one soon though
I just put a 3" summit flowmaster copy on a hatch and it sounds really mean and defiantly flows well. its not a true straight through (has two smaller inner pipes and 2 chambers) but you can see right through it and it has welded end caps rather than rolled seams. here are a couple pics you can see how I put a little tail pipe on it and tucked it up and under the bumper, you can see why i didnt like how the one up there ^ looks. jsut dangeling....and yes this this one is painted bronze. it was all i had but it looks black on the car with no flash

Very true. My magnaflow sounds good, but it is EXTREAMLY loud. I think it would be quiter if i was runnin open dp.

I also have the muffler that IslandSi posted above. It's a 2.5" version, too. It's a good muffler, but it is very heavy. Don't drop it on your head while welding it in...you may not recover.

Re: (Sonny)
So is the straight through design a must for a turbo'd car? I seen the magnaflow round mufflers are straight through but the oval ones it doesn't say. I'm not going to have a cat or resonator BTW. I have 2 magnaflow mufflers now but I don't think there 3" cause my piping is 2 1/4" but I'll check. It's dual wall which from what I've been told isn't as loud as a singlw wall.

I'm running this exact model:
http://www.magnaflow.com/02pro...d=601
It's VERY low and VERY deep for a honda. Even at highr evs, there is no honda buzz. Just low and deep. I have 1 18" dynomax resoantor inline. straight through as well. full 3" from turbo back. daily driving it is nice. not too loud. Doesn't have that annoying drone you get soemtiems with exhausts. It is not overly loud at redline either. my wastegate is quite a bit louder actually. It's a great setup for a turbo honda, and yes, straight through is a msut for performance wise... Idunno what other kidna feedback you're looking for.
