As long as your numbers stay within a 10% variance, you're fine.

well i don't know if this is the result of the compression but the car seems as though it is running on 2 cylinders . ran really good for 241 miles .it also has a tough time gong up hills if you have to come to a stop. checked the plugs and they are clean, very clean in fact. this is what happened ,motor was rebuilt ,ran the car for 242 miles .at 243 motor stalled going up a hill after i shifted to nuetral.started her back up ran fine went home parked for ten minutes came out and started her back up again and this is how she's been running. the motor runs really well,no stalling ,no backfire, missing ,smooth idle at 750 rpm .starts up easy just no power.

well you have 9:1 pistons on there. how thick is your cometic headgasket?? if its thicker than stock then you are running even lower compression. your rings probably arent seated yet. i think 9:1 will yield around 170 psi.

(please read)the gasket is one of their three layers with a metal fire ring deal.like i stated the motor ran good ,strong for 242 miles and and now it's on it's ***. i'm getting 150psi . from the four.how long does it usually take for the rings to seat? also i read this post here that stated the most important time for the rings to seat are in the first 20 or so miles under medium to hard driving ,is this true? i need to figure out the problem. could the lower comp. make the motor run slower and have less torque cause it won't even go up a hill, small one at that.

yup, lowering comp will drop your horsepower and torque. When you boost your car what you would do is run more boost to compensate for that loss.
