I have seen a few things about people running inline filters for turbo feed, I have never done this but would like to since I have invested in a better turbo. I have a bb gt3076 I run a -3 line to it but am seeing only -4 inline filters. I have seen debate on screen an paper filters kinda looking for some insight here. Thank you in advance

 

I know some people use the Golden Eagle sandwich plate for a source of oil as it is filtered.

What about a Golden Eagle setup and an inline?

Also how often do the inline ones need to be replaced?

 

shodan told me the golden eagle wasnt good enuff, granted hes pretty particular and theres hundreds of boosted setups using no filter at all.

I believe its just a screen filter which can be cleaned manually

Im sure he will elaborate later, but you want the filter just before the turbo to cut down any possible chance of debris entering the turbo

 

What would just before the turbo do vs anywhere else in the line?

 

Golden Eagle sandwich plate is the only plate on the market that filters oil through the filter before feeding it to the line. Oil can still make it past the bypass within the oil filter under pressure, and you can still have oil contamination in the feed line. Having a filter inline guarantees clean oil moreso than the possibility of making it around the bypass valve within a thread on oil filter.
