Default What has a better platform?

I plan on going forced induction as soon as i decide between these two cars. I would like ya'lls opinion on the better platform for my needs. I currently own a 1994 civic dx hatchback with a gsr motor and type r tranny. There is a guy who wants to trade me my hatchback plus $500 cash for his 1998 integra gsr. No matter which car i pick, it will be a daily driver with a/c and power steering. I know weight plays a big part in performance, but i also like the looks of the integra better. I want something that will be good to get around town in and still be a weekend track car. I plan on going stock block turbo at first and later down the road build my block. Here are the specs on each car.

**What would the weight difference be between the hatch and integra if i took out everything behind the front seats out the integra along with removing the front bumper support?

1994 civic dx hatch 205000 miles on body
GSR motor 50k miles
Type r tranny 35k miles
Needs paint (2 different colors)
little performance mods here and there

1998 integra GSR (wants my hatch plus 500 for this integra)
82000 on body
50k on motor and tranny
little performance things here and there
Has damage on rear quarter panel and front bumper is diff color green

Pics.

here is the damage on it

What would be the best route to take? Would it be a good deal if the decision was the go with the integra?

p.s. I know its not really forced induction, but the power i plan to make with turbo really affects my decision by which platform to go with.

Thanks for the help

I think it all depends on what you like. I don't really like the way tegs look over the hatchs. I love the way 92-95 hatchs look. The teg wil be a newer car but will weigh more. Also do you have emmisions where you live? 98 will have to pass harder obd2 emmissions I would imagine.

The motors are the same just the trannies are different correct? Both have the same amount of miles on the motor so it is pretty much what car you like better

keep your hatch if i was you, you already know what you got, you don't wanna give up your car then get into someone else's problems.

why does he have a new motor when there is only 82000 on the body??

I own a teg and the weigh is a big difference. I would stay with the hatch...lighter weight, cheaper insurance, make them look good to, etc

I have a 95 Integra and its boosted and such and I still want a hatchback I love the look of a EG or EK hatch. Plus they are lighter so if I already had a hatch I would never upgrade to a integra...

I would go with the geeser. I a bit biased because i am always wanted one since i got a ride in one back in 96. I would jump on that in a min.

get the teg--the only thing that your hatch has over the teg is weight diff
your body has 205k compared to 80k
type r trans is a downfall for turbo car
4yrs newer/ 120k less on body--seems like no brainer

how can you say that a type r trans is a downfall, he is boosting stock block so its not an enormous amount of power, plus the fact that oem lsd is way better then no lsd with the gsr transmission, although if you think bout it the gsr would have much higher resale value then your hatch

me personally id choose the teg its just a personal preference
