Default what happens when you overboost?

i know knocking is one possibility. (too much air:fuel)
but which engine internals can be damaged? if not all
of them? or what are some commonly damaged
internal parts because of FI.

and what would be involved in super-fitting your engine
so it can handle very high boost?

Your pistons break, your headgasket might go away.. if severe enough you can damage the main bearings...

Basically everything important that moves.

depends on what you mean by "overboost"

You can over boost a turbo to where it produces so much heat it actually loses HP even though it is giving off a high PSI.

As for engine, yea, everything that moves can be affected, especially if a piece of a flying rod hits it

Overboosting leads to running too lean
running too lean leads to detontion
detonation leads to excessive heat
excessive heat leads to parts expanding
parts expanding leads to more friction
more friction leads to parts warping
parts warping leads to irratic behavior
irratic behavior leads to loss in power
loss in power leads to unhappy driver
unhappy driver leads to an unhappy driver paying for replacement parts
an unhappy driver paying for replacement parts leads an unhappy driver with a lot less money

get the picture?

Or you can break chunks off of your Ferrea valves like I did. Just don't boost too long....you will pay later.
