Default what happens when u (+) the fuel correction on an afc controller???

I've done some sreaching on afc about 300 posts. every body (-) to correct the fuel and this casues the timing to advance so what about (+) the correction if you have the right sized injector or maybe a slight bit smaller. then use a missinglink for the map sensor to hide the boost.. I'm just curiuos I'm trying to help a friend do some tuning.. has any body tried (+) the correction. I'm still goning though the 300 post on afc's so any help would be great. does it still advance timing??

when you use the plus it is almost telling the ecu you are boosting, when you really aren't that much. Know what I mean, if it goes by map signal, if you turn it up you are turning up how much the map is sending. Why you don't go + is because you will throw a check engine light. THe whol point is to take the fuel out so you don't throw a check engine. Then comes the timing....

2 things wrong with the idea:

1) The MAP signal will go too high and you will go into limp mode.
2) The injectors will have to go past 100% duty which is impossible.

With the AFC, there is no way to avoid the timing issue; you just need to retard the timing (static timing and/or a MSD boost retard) to compensate and keep things safe.

The second pitfall of the AFC is that it is RPM-dependant instead of boost-dependant. I am building a little circuit board to fix that, though. Hack the hack.

the BTM doesnt really do anything. If you are retarding say 1 degree for 1psi of boost, and the AFC advances your timing 10 degrees, the BTM retards 1 degree, you're still 9 degrees advanced when you need to be 1 degree retarded.

If you're using the hack, the only way to make it as "safe" as possible is run 10psi and retard your distributor.
