What engine management to use?
Hey, i'm running a semi-ghetto, very cheap, turbo setup. I'm trying to find a cheap/free engine management setup. I heard CHROME was good, but can't seem to find it anywhere? Heres my setup:
95 Civic HB
00 Civic DX Engine
95 Civic SI Trans
Log Manifold
T26 Turbo
Galant IC Setup TMIC Style (For now, Just an experement)
Stock inj
Stock pump
FMU
Running 6lbs
YES! I know its ghetto. YES! It probobly wont last. I'm just trying to get a few good days of fun out of it. I'm going into the army, and when I get back in 4 years I have bigger plans, so I just threw this together for fun and games. I wanna see what kinda power I can make with it, so I need management, but as I said, only a few days worth, so I dont wanna play for Hondata. Thanks in advanced!

you got an FMU! what do you need management for! haha.
I normally would never say this, but in your case I would have to say you have 2 semi cheap choices.
A. PM somebody that deals with ECUs and get one thats chipped for your setup with a good basemap. (unless you can do it yourself.....?)
B. SAFC

I actually just ordered a uberdata chip set. i'm gonna install that **** next week and take it to get dyno tuned.

Yes I do. And do people usually sell just the resistor boxes? I think I can get ahold of some 1g auto turbo injectors from a buddy of mine, just just got the 5-speed ones.

92+ hondas have 12v being supplied to the injectors. obd0 and dsm injectors run on ~5.5V. they need 12v with a resistor to turn the 12v down to the lower voltage. The signal from the ECU is a pulsed ground, so voltage is constantly being applied.
The yellow/black (power) wires go to the resistor box, and the 4 wires coming out are the lower voltage wires, which will then go to the injectors.
to get the dsm injectors in you also need to dremel off a tiny tab on the inside of each injector and drill out your big flat o rings on the intake manifold

not quite; you'll want to use the stock honda or dsm o rings in the fuel rail (whichever are bigger; i can't remember off the top of my head) and you have to bore out the injector to bung rubber piece; no actual dremeling on the injector.
they're a 75% drop in replacement for stock injectors

Actually on most cars you don't even have to dremel out the seals I have learned. Just take out the lower hard seal and leave the soft seal in there, i think tegs might be the only one with the two seals but I don't remember.
Then just take a razor blade and chop off the tab, and you are good to go. Plus the wiring of the resistor box.

on his car, he will have to cut the little tab on the inside of the injector plug. i found it easiest to use a tiny dremel bit, it saws it right off.
and as far as monster trucking the injectors into the intake manifold... good luck, its hard as hell. i think its easier to just bore out that bottom seal.

If you're paying someone else to tune the car, use Crome. There is no difference in cost to the "end user" - the difference being the datalogging enabled version of Crome Pro costs tuners money. I can tune cars faster with Crome. I'm happier with the overall results. I think you will be too. Uberdata's strength is that it is a datalogging-enabled tuning application for those who have the tools and motivation to tune it themselves but don't have the cash for CromePro or Hondata. If you're paying someone else to tune the car, use better tools.
