what else can break in stock 300 hp daily driver
I've research that a stock b18b engine can safely withstand up to 300 hp. That's great because that's my power goals for my car, a '99 integra ls.
But I'm wondering what else on the car is able to handle this horsepower goal for a daily driver? Will the tranny, clutch, axle, etc be able to handle the extra horsepower? And if certain parts are more prone to breaking, what is the recommended replacement part?
Thanks!

as long as you drive your car right everything should be fine ;but you do need to get a stronger clutch.

heheh its what i run...expect a 4puck...the 6puck makes things a lil less harsh...
but w/ only 300hp being your limit...a good sprung kevlar disk w/ an upgraded pp would do the trick...but kevlar like organic once heated will start to slip...so if your a track *****...def go w/ the ceramic...ive beat on my all last season...its yet to slip

I have a ACT HDSS and it is starting to slip. Lasted more than 20k though so I am happy. Proper matenience is key to keepin your motor alive. Also most critical is the tune. That is the key.

You're an idiot.
I have an Exedy 3 puc...and it slips sometimes.....get a 6 puc sprung so you don't have to upgrade anytime soon.

Re: what else can break in stock 300 hp daily driver (cobra2326)
My car is currently turbo charged. I'm using this strickly for a daily driver and once in a while at the track, just for ***** and giggles.
This is basically my setup:
B18b stock
Blox manifold
T3 Super 60
2.5" downpipe with e-cutout before the cat
2.5" charge pipe
jrc 5" intercooler
450cc dsm injectors
OBDII -> OBDI conversion
uberdata
wideband 02 sensor
egt gauge
boost gauge
oil pressure gauge
tial 38mm wastegate, currently with the blue 8.6 psi spring
1G dsm bov
I've designed my setup to be a solid quick spooling daily driven toy. My afr is a flat 11.7-11.9 afr in boost. My timing is on the conservative side at 1 degree per psi. I'm leaving that, until I can put the car on a dyno and find my cars MBT.
Reaching 300 hp with this setup shouldn't be a problem, the turbo's compressor map is perfect for my engine and hp goals.
I know all I really need to do to reach the 300 hp is to turn up the boost and tune it. I might need to change my map sensor, but that isn't the issue right now.
I'm trying to design my perfect daily driver and it's top priority is reliability. I'm trying to find out what might brake before it actually does. And also what to replace it with in the event it does break.
Please keep this thread on target as I'm sure there are many other daily driven cars out there that could benefit from usefull information.
Thanks

You've given me more hope for my turbo build. I'm going to start mine once I get all the info and the cash. Mine will also be daily driven.
Have any pics?

Even in NA ive had issues with the shock loading killing the bearings, it chatters alot too, not really my idea of a daily driver clutch. Very harsh to the drivetrain IME

It will prolly start slipping eventually.....if you are planning on running enough boost for 300hp all the time. That clutch is only supposed to hold 230ish torque.
