What to do.. what to do... Help!
I'm stuck. I have a Drag III kit sitting in my room and it has been for a month now, I put it up for sale earlier this week while I attempted to get a new car but that was quickly shut down when I looked at insurance quotes
.
My MOTOR/Tranny currently have 146,000 miles. Timing belt and Water pump were done recently. It runs STRONG. The turbo hasn't been installed for a couple reasons, one of them was the cooling system was water-cooled b4 I bought the car and as you know it causes rust if it sits long enuff, so I spent a good 2-3x flushing it.. then the water pump started leaking.. changed, timing belt was done as well.
So right now I have over 2500 dollars of parts sitting in my room and I am almost scared of putting it on. I drive my car daily, and rely on it - when I changed the timing belt/water pump it took a few days(don't ask why) and I had to rely on another car to goto work.
I can just picture the headgasket going on my car 2 weeks into putting the turbo on, I can picture all these bad things happening just cuz the mileage on the motor (does have good compression tho)
I've seen people blow their cars up and end up going back to stokc becuz it's too much work, I see no reason to put myself in that position..
So it's either..
put the turbo on.. boost..
or
GSR motor and a 50 wet shot, much less likely to dmg anything.. I don't want down time
opinions?

Hold off on the turbo until you can afford a 2nd car... at least thats what I did. I wouldn't want to depend on a turbofied honda to get me to work.
