No. Simply put, this is NOT a good idea. You need to concentrate on the right equipment now, so that you're not replacing a ton of parts later when you "build it up". you can still get a good sized turbo to work for you for now, that can work for the B16A2, then retune and turn up the wick, or easily replace the turbocharger w/ a larger unit later. It's best not to half-*** this, just to say you have boost.

But I don't see the point in putting all this money into a little bigger turbo that i will have to replace a few months down the road when i get a GSR block to build. Because i will need a bigger turbo at that time to push the numbers i want out of the GSR block. So instead you want me to buy all new parts to boost a stock block that i will have boosted for prolly 6 months then park it and rip it out for the GSR build. I mean i got an offer on a greddy fmic, hks ssqv bov, and an autometer boost gauge. The b16a2 i have is not what will be in the car 6 months to a year down the road cause after i get my 240 legal and tagged it will become my DD. Then the civic will be parked and ripped apart to get a new freshly build motor and an overhaul from inside out. So if I may why is this such a bad idea and why would it be half-assed? Hope I dont sound like i am being smart just wondering. thanks

considering you will be using every part you use on your b16, will be used on the gsr as well, why not just do a solid setup right now? Get a quality intercooler (the greddy is good) good piping thats bead rolled, silicon couplres with t bolt clamps. Now get a decent sized t3to4e turbo such as a 57 trim, along with a good manifold DP setup-

only thing you will be changing when u go to the GSR is the oil pan, and possibly turbo- what are your goals?

that tiny turbo falls off in power production at 5500rpm on an eclipse, thats where our engines start to come to life, its going to suck *** but if you want to do it its your car, the wise have spoken.

well i am going to fab my own IC piping, and my power goals are unknown really. i want the car to run at like 300 or 350 first then work my way up till I get the car I want. so i dont know my true power goals. but if this is a bad idea i wont do it just fab up the piping and get the little parts like fmic, bov, etc. thanks guys

Again, this is a bad idea. Get the right build right the 1st time.

Dude, either you want the help or you don't. If you're not gonna listen then why ask? There are a LOT of people who have done what you are trying to do and it ends up being the more difficult way of doing things. People are just trying to save you a lot of work. If you don't want to take the advice then you have two options.........

1) Do the research yourself and figure out that what people are telling you is correct, or.....

2) Do it the hard way and learn from your mistake.
