Hey bought a car and it came with a brand of rods that I havent heard of..

There called CAT rods and they are H-Beam rods with arp studs... They came ballanced as well has a paper in the box w/ weights...

I tried looking on ebay but they only have them for big blocks...

Any info would be good...

Looks to be just another chinesse knock off h-beam forging.

Was it Carrillo that originally marketed that rod design or someone else?

Well,they're in California, give them a call and start asking questions. I wouldn't give it a Chinese knock off title yet. Just because they are small doesn't mean they're using sub-standard ****. Give them a shout (A PHONE CALL- NOT JUST SOME E-MAIL and get to know what they're about. you might even be surprised..

they have been around since at least 2002. i remember seeing their rods when i rebuilt a 350 back then. that long in business is one good sign.

should do this with any rod. eagles are always off out of the box as well

I wish a lot more folks realized this.... Most rods are not ready to install out of the box. Last set of probes I had you couldn't even fit the piston pin in the hole, but better tight than loose. (easier to have fixed)

I'm talking a little more attention than usual. Eagles are usually pretty good, but maybe need a couple tenths honed out. CAT stuff, not so much.
