What can kill race gas?
Ok make a long story short, I put 100 leaded aviation gas in my cooling system awhile ago, I had put the race gas in a empty coolant container
. I did a full flush after, now I think its causing my engine to overheat. When you take the cap off its still spewing out gunky white stuff. I've changed thermostat, headgasket, water pump. Anybody know what i can put in my cooling system to clean everything inside? Please no smart comments (that goes to you /dustin/

You prolly shoulda flushed with straight water first, before adding any coolant. That white **** might be a chemical reaction between the coolant and Gasoline. You should try draining everything complete and running a few flushs with water or something.

I'd go to whatever autostore and look for coolant system cleaner.. not sure what there is or what works, but there must be something.....

i think draino works .. or is that for drains...
Theres some good products there at home depot that can solve your issues...
those things have a pH close to 12 or higher...they're seriously ****
your water pump bearings, and do some serious dammage....
they'll etch away at the block internals..!!!

water neutralizes pretty much everything,
to clean, use the regular rad flush stuff, and use it several times..
till no more soapy residue..

add water to an acid (eg hydrochloric acid) the acid netralizes to a
more neutral level....
add water to a base (eg sodium hybroxide) the base neutralizes to
a more neutral base...
all depends how much water u add...the more water the more to
neutral.!!

you aways "add the acid" as a general lab rule..
with that large amount of acid and small amount of water
youd slightly dilute the acid, not increase its pH by much
then again it depends on the acid..

So it still overheats even after changing the head gasket.. ugh... ?? Is there like something literally stuck in your cooling system like a socket or something? =P

It makes the overall mixture more neutral but it does not really neutralize anything.
you can only do soo much i mean u still have these acidic or basic
ion in solution, youre not really getting rid of them...
only way to 100% neutralize an acid is to add the same amount of base
same goes for neutralizing a base..
