As the title states, I am looking for a decent set of cams for my built ls/vtec. It is turbo'd with a Garrett gt32 t3 turbo, RC Engineering 750cc injectors, Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, and other goodies. The head is built with all Supertech components, but still has stock cams and cam gears. I have two bottom ends. My built bottom end has Eagle H beam rods and CP 9.5:1 pistons, while my other block is completely stock. Both are LS blocks. My question is, what are decent cams to put in my setup? The car is tuned on e85.

What are your power goals, and which head do you have?

Lots of people have had great success with stock VTEC cams. GSR, CTR and ITR. Please exclude the B16 cams.

On a GT32 turbocharger, GS-R or Type R does just fine. Pro1s will not help you with a turbo of that size.

a few days ago i saw someone selling itr cams with aftermarket adj gears for like 350 or something. thats the kind of deal you want to look for as they do come up fairly regularly. ive had pretty good results with my itr cams and the person i got them from was making 700+hp with them

use skunk 2 stage1 tunner cams or ctr/itr. i run skunk2 stage 1 in my boosted b16. i have another b16 build i working on and im goning to used bloxs stage 1 turnner cams ill let every one how it goes.

type r ftw, or pro 1s.. but gsrs will make pretty good power and are pretty cheap..

i had GSR's in my stock block/head ls/vtec on 15psi and dropped in a set of pro 1 cams with skunk2 gears boosted of a Holset HX35 which is a compareable to a gt35 and at 15 psi made a huge difference. id say by the butt dyno i picked up 20ish WHP. Every setup is gonna be different so gains are gonna be different.

The Pro 1's can make gains, but the turbo you're using is quite a bit bigger than the one the OP is using. The "GT32" is not sizably between the GT30r and the GT35r...it's more like a 57trim only a tad smaller.

No, i know. I was just pointing out a common mistake with the GT32. Most people think it is a little smaller than a GT35r which is why i thought you referenced it in relation to your HX35.

Im not gonna say i know alot about the 32, but id think that even on a turbo like that that the cams would still make more power than GSR's, maybe im wrong though.

Back on topic, anythings better than B16 cams, even the 92-93 GSR, although not by much.

Yeah, i'm still rocking the stock GSR cams...i might man up and get a set of ITRs or Blox B's this summer

I have GSR cams now. I am running a GSR head that is built. I just wanted to make sure I'm not skipping any aspect of my head by throwing stock cams back in it even with it all built. Thanks guys!
