What cams for fully built LS?
Havent got off my *** to research which cams to use. This is goin on my fully built LS daily driver. I dont really mind an 1100 rpm idle.
I know a couple guys have the Web cams that boosted3g designed (speedfreak). Who had luck with the crower's?
Im gonna be making well over 400 whp.

Re: What cams for fully built LS? (93LSivic)
stock LS cams are 220/222 advertised duration w/ .395(10.03mm) / .380(9.65mm) lift.
I would prefer something w/ 230 or so duration and maybe 10.7-8mm lift. I did a little research awhile back on a few cams ill see if I can find some stuff again. but basically I was looking for something that would pull about 1k rpm's longer and not loose the natural torque curve of the LS. I know someone w/ like an 11.9mm lift cam on there LS and a 60-1 turbo, they said it is a BITCH to tune when boost comes on.

Re: What cams for fully built LS? (DIRep)
I would consider the EF-1 cams (small grind) from Rocket for your LS. I have them in my NA setup and they are awesome, I gained about 15WHP after tuning w/ afc and cam gears(on a B20). The duration is bigger than what you specified, but Rocket knows his ****. As soon as I can finish up my turbo kit, I should have some dyno numbers. If you talk to him, tell him JalopySiR sent you!

Rocket
I'm going to use the L21 LS cams in my D16A1/ZC. I'm not going to use the actual LS cam set (they don't fit), but the same grind is available for the ZC. They can make new ones or regrind existing cores for ~200. Using a regrind seems to be a little more "tricky" in a VTEC head, but people have done it for a long time on the non-VTEC SOHC and DOHC heads.
Maybe the Skunk2 or Crower cams are better...maybe not. One thing that is for certain is that you will not beat Rocket's customer service or willingness to work with you.

I have considered Rockets cams. We are a dealer for him. I havent had a chance to talk to him since Ive been busy at work.
Anyone else have some more suggestions?
Viren, I will look into the ZEX cams--thanks.

the zex gsr cams is what i am gonna try out this year in the ls vtec setup i got set free so we can see whats up.. we really need to challenge like the manifold to get a true understanding of what works and what doesnt.
IT will help the honda community here at least alot.. i am willing to dyno and try different things so just let me know we can start messing with them

Sounds good to me. I would be willing to dyno a couple different ones since now we have a couple dyno's popping up in our area here.
I gotta call one of our rep's that carry zex and see what they offer spec wise, and price wise. I know lots of poeple have good luck with their sohc nonvtec cams.
