depends.......cruising around, over a long time it wil hurt. during a race at full boost between gear shifts? yes.

GN's shifted very fast, and with a decent load between gears, so the surge between gears wouldn't be that bad. A normal slushbox or even a quick manual shift can be enough to hose a turbo quickly if you surge badly.
