I herd that lowering the compression in your engine is better if running a boosted setup but yet at the same time i also thought you wanted higher compression because the exhaust flow will be forced to spin the turbo quicker/faster cutting back boost lag. Some one help me out...
higher compression will net more power at the same boost levels of lower compression, but engine life will be short due to detonation and other engine issues.
lower compression is ideal for boosted setups because it lower the chance of detonation, and allow you to run more boost and timing , allowing you to safely make more power with longer engine life. if you wan't a balance between high and low compression, I would recomend a 9.5.1 on a b series setup.
I run 8.8.1 on a 2l ls/vtec with a t67 turbo and it spools the turbo quick still.

if you are a street up and mainly staying that way, id stay conservative on the compression.
my friend that tunes mustangs said something that makes pretty good sense:
as compression goes up, your tuning window (for errors) get smaller and smaller.
especially if you are on stock sleeves, you may only get one hiccup or 2.
