Default What is the best size intercooler for EJ8 with minimal modification?

Hey, I am wondering what is the best sized intercooler for a Civic EK (EJ8)?

My power goals are quite low 200-250whp with a T3 Super 60 on a B16A2

Can I use a 28x7x2.5 w/ 2.5" Inlet/Outlet with no cutting?
Or should I go 27x5x2.5 w/ 2" Inlet/Outlet?

How well do the generic civic charge piping kits fit? Is eBay the best option or should I have it towed to an exhaust shop and have them fab it up along with my exhaust, or piece it myself (what kind of bends would I need).

With an EJ8, I know you can fit an intercooler up to 3" thick. Id say to try and find an intercooler that is 27 x 6 x 2.5-3

For low 200's, you wont need much.

Depending on your manifold, I believe most piping kits will fit with no problem.

DRAG III intercoolers fit really well, and are good to ~ 400whp

It is a custom log setup...

I am building a budget setup... so if silicone couplings can do, I want to go with that. Doesnt it also offers ease of removing and replacing with stock components IN CASE of an emergency.

What kind of bends/pipes should I be looking for? I notice the kits vary in terms of whats included.

Thanks guys, I found a 27"x5"x2.5" for fairly cheap.

Spoolin' Performance has some pretty good deals on their polished aluminum intercooler piping. Here it is on my coupe.

I think I'm going to pick this up

27x5.5x2.5

But the inlets/outlets are only 2", I think the turbo is 2" too. I didnt get a chance to look at it since I dropped it off at the shop immediately after I picked it up.

What is the cheapest (reasonable) way of doing the charge pipes? Goal is 200-250whp on a stock B16A2 with a Super 60. Soo maybe 7psi?

The eBay charge pipes are 60+50shipping, but then I would need a pipe adapter for the BOV or have a shop weld a flange. Or I can bring my car to a shop and have it done for 250-350 (how many bends would I need for an EJ8)? Starting from the turbo, theres a 90, then a 180, intercooler, not sure about the rest.

I want the cheapest solution... I know boost is not cheap but if I can get away with eBay charge pipes for the lowest price, or even home made ABS, that would be great to know. Or should I just spend 300 on custom fabbed charge pipes.

search ETDmotors on ebay. i bought my intercooler for my EJ8 from them. it was a 27x6x2.5. fit with minor shaving of the webbing and is excellent quality for the money.
