Not qute the same, you can't have much/any movement on a V-band or it will lose seal, whereas the Wiggens clamps will allow some movement/flex of the joint without bursting or losing pressure.

i cant remember where i got them, but i bought aluminum, o-ringed v-bands for less that $50 each. 2 1/2" and 3" for my charge piping. 1 piece piping FTW

there was also a place online that would send you a AL/SS setup for doing exhausts, not o-ringed for obvious reasons though

Wiggins clamps allow 10-15 degrees of movement when fully assembled. A wiggins on each side of a one piece intercooler pipe is fine, a v band on each side of a 1 pc pipe is not fine because if the motor moves at all something is going to crack.

in that way yes, thought he was replying to my pics, in which it sits on a block, to allow movement.

but ya, on a large system with parts hard mounted, could be bad.
