Default what am I doing wrong?!?

OK guys this is another installment in my ongoing turbo install dilema, this time including V-afc. Well I wiried in the v-afc... I swear I did it right... I checked 3 times. Well this is the issue with the v-afc, when the car is in the on poistion the lights in the arrow area and the next and previous buttons come on but the screen does not come on?!?! when the is running the v-afc goes off?!?
NEXT... I took the car for a test drive today and the idle is bad, really low and the engine is shaking again. I don't think I have a vacuum leak beacuse all the lines are hooked up right. The engine is fine after 3000 rpms. It has the same feeling as if the I need a valve job but I just got a valve job 500 miles ago. I think it is a fuel probelm but I am going to check the timing and the Idle control valve the next time I can get to my car.
Do you guys have any suggestions? I would love to here your thoughts on what you think the probelm is... maybe I'm just an idiot, this is my first turbo install, I have learned alot, but still be patient with me, thanks. All replies will be greatly apprecaited. Thanks again ,
Ian

If you're 100% sure the VAFC is hooked up correctly, then it may be a bad unit. The words "VTEC AFC" should come across the screen and then "APEXI" should appear on the screen when you turn the car on or just turn the key to the II position on the ignition.

Yeah man I had the V-afc wired in when I was NA and it ran no problem, but it was wired into my OBDII to OBDI harness, I rewired it to my SI harness and it started acting like I described in my last post, I was hoping that it was not a bad unit because when I took it out I did not do anything for it to not work incorrectly (drop it or anything like that) so I don't know what's going on. Do you think that it would cause my idle to go crazy? I don't know just looking for some help, thanks for the reply,
Ian

I would say it could be causing it to idle weird. If it does not come on the way it is supposed to like the directions describe for the initial startup, I would not even drive the car with it hooked up. Are you sure you have the wires far enough apart on the one or two wires that have two splices???? I heard that is was very important for them to be at least the specified distance from eachother.....it's like an inch or two I think. Other than that, I don't know what else to tell you.
