Went to the track, almost blew up the ZC, real fun...
Whelp, after finally getting the SMC in and getting everything street tuned (), I finally took her back down to the track last night. Get there a little late, and the line is long but good for a couple runs.
First run:
R/T: .513 (Suck it...Trebek)
60': 2.356
1/8: 9.508
1/4: 14.533
MPH: 98.60
Took her back to the pits, and shut her down. I am hitting 9psi REAL quick, then dropping back down to 6. My Home Depot boost controller seems to make me creep real bad. Went to the stands for an hour or so, then came back. Adjusted the internal WG up to 8-9psi, and went to get in the car... WTF, what f*er spilt oil on my windshield? Wait a second, it's on my wipers too, and on my hood....
Popped the hood. OMFG. Everything from the valve cover to the firewall was COVERED in some nice Castrol Syntec 10w-30. Grabbed the dip, NOTHING. WTF IS GOING ON!!!???. I quickly started feeling my oil feed lines. Everything seems to be okay, but what about my oil pressure guage line? About 1/2 down the line, the little nylon tubing crinked, and severed, spraying 70psi of hot oil all over my engine bay for at least 20 secs or so. I called 4 help, and got some more oil. Stuck a vacuum cap over one of my T fittings, and hose clamped her down to get home.
Probably one of the scarriest nights the ZC has seen. She ran decent though. With the boost at 9 now, I'm definetly looking at 13's, after I retune the SMC and fix my axle. What do you guys think I should invest in now (I know, I said this was it after I got everything on, but I still want more...). Here's the setup so far:
88 H/B
ZC longblock/Si Tranny
ACT 6puck/eXtreme PP
Fidanza 9lb
MSD 6A w/ Accel Coil/modded cap
Greddy TD04H, w/ Trust FMIC (SMALL), 1g DSM BOV
DSM 450cc injectors/SMC
What's next? Get it hella tuned, or go w/ a TT, Starion FMIC (And sell mine?), 3" Exhaust?

Had, the B16...Liking this much more so far. If I could have boosted the B16 (90 CRX Si, friggin awesome), I would have done that. Oh well. These are a LOT cheaper to replace

Tune the F@ck out of it, get a fuel pump, fix your axle, get some slicks, and cherish your timeslip.

I would suggest a turbo upgrade. either get one from a manual tranny first gen TD05 or step up to a 16g. You will love the extra power that the bigger turbo will give you. I actually think I have a manual first gen turbo I would sell cheap.. I think.. If your interested i would want about $150 shipped.

Funny you say how cheap ZCs are to replace...so are the b16s now. Nippon motors has both ZC and b16 longblocks for 495 each plus shipping. Kind of interesting...hehe. Nice time by the way and sure glad to hear the beast is ok after that incident. Personally I would get the larger exhaust setup and get it tuned really well.

Yeah. Overall, I have less than 3k in this car (Including car, wheels, turbo, ignition system, guages, EVERYTHING); and it's going to hit 13's; a second faster than my B16a CRX EVER was; and I have a pretty noisemaker every time I change gears .
As for the 14b, I was considering it. It will just bolt right up to where my TD04 is right now wont it? Would I have to run water lines to it, or just use the same oil lines I have now and not worry about water?
Jeff, not getting down there tonight. Found about a kegger going on tonight . Screw 13's, they can wait.
