Default well, it's in...finally

Started Friday night around 8:00 PM. Began taking things apart and test fitting pieces to see if they were gonna work. The only problem I had was the o2 sensor bung was not far enough back on the downpipe, and was directly under the axle. I went ahead and did everything else I could. I finally gave up when I caught myself falling asleep under the car trying to put the oil pan back on. Got started around 11:00 AM Saturday morning connecting oil lines and vac lines. Got the downpipe welded, but I was not excited about working on the car anymore. So we went and got some food and just chilled for the afternoon. Got back to it later on, got everything together and cranked it around 9:30. It was really smooth considering it had the stock injectors and computer. Sunday I got my Uberdata chip and wired up the 450's. I used the inline resistors to be quick and easy, but apparently they don't work. It is very finicky about when it gets the right amount of fuel and it's never enough in the higher RPM. So, now I am gonna try a resistor box (what I should have done the first time) and see if that helps.

Here's the setup:
Inline Pro
T3/T04e .54 trim/ .63 A/R
Tial Wastegate
Custom Downpipe
Custom Intercooler Piping
Johnnyracecar Intercooler
Apex-i Dual Chamber BOV
Uberdata
DSM 450's

After 11 months of saving money and collecting parts, and 2 months of eating Ramen every day for lunch, it's on. Now I just have to get it right. Just wanted to share the progress and say thanks for all the help along the way!

Sounds good. Best of luck w/ your setup. Any reason for the .54 trim in particular?

For a b16, a .54 trim stays in the 80% efficiency island on the compressor map all the way to 16 lbs.

Congrats man ...let us know how the resistor box worked out! I hope you make some good numbers.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one skimping out of food just to save up money .

GL with the tune!

God damn if this aint a S. Carolina thread.

T dizzle, congrats on the setup. If i were you, i would not worry about a break in, but rather i would get my *** to the dyno quick. Break is gets compared to have the proper fuel for rolling.

Yeah, if you can catch 12 packs of soda on sale for $2.99, and then 10 for $1.00 Ramen. You can eat for $0.35 per day!

cheap bastard!

The car has the resistor box hooked up now, but its still cutting out and stuff. I'll let trenton explain it better in the morning. That car should most definitely run better than that even with a base map.

So, the resistor box is in. Everything is soldered and covered in heat shrink. It runs a little (very little) better than it did with the inline resistors but it is still bogging and sputtering in the higher RPM. It just doesn't want to go. I am going to try raising the fuel pressure and maybe recheck the timing. If anyone has any ideas feel free to chime in!

Go with one of those different turbos, with a crazy port and clip. I never see anything about clips of these turbos?

How do you adjust fuel pressure? Are you using an aftermarket FPR or FMU. I thought you were doing standalone?

I know my map sensor is seeing boost...I have uberdata. My map will read up to 11 lbs. It may be the timing though. I would think the 450's wouldn't react so bad to advanced timing. Any of you guys got a light we can put on it tonight?

I still have an adjustable FPR. I had it turned down for N/A. I am willing to try anything at this point.

I don't know how well the 450s react... but if you want to mess w/ the injector timing independently of the distributor timing, set the distributor, say, 2 degrees retarded and then advance both ignition maps in uberdata 2 degrees to reset timing to effectively stock. That way the injector firing time is retarded but the spark firing time is left alone. You can do the opposite if you want the injectors to fire sooner without killing your ignition timing.

I haven't played with 450s, but that might help. Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion, I will have to let J.Davis do all that stuff!<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by G"UNIT &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yea i have one.. what is your vafc set like? let me know if yea need it. i get out of driving school tonight at 9pm.. lol..i need 4 points back..</TD></TR></TABLE>
I might have to come by and time my POS tonight when you get done staring at the hot chicks...lol! The AFC is at 0 all the way across, I have a JDM B16 program for 450cc injectors. In a perfect world it would have a good tune as is...but you see how that is...haha.
