weird problem going on, need some input
when my car is on accessory, i noticed a vibration & a loud noise coming from the fuse-box under the hood. I felt my cooling fan relay & it was vibrating & making noise.
I have a perma-cool radiator fan.
whats going on?????

ether the relay is bad or going bad or your batt voltage is low with the car off . or theres a bad ground.check the ground first. change the relay with a good one (new) and see how it is if the problem is still there. put a meter on the batt with the key in acc if its low sounds like a new batt is needed. hope this will help
I doubt your fan is overloading the relay, unless you have a sporadic short somewhere in the fan wiring. I don't see how a bad battery could cause a relay problem. If the trigger signal to the relay is bad though, ie, not a steady voltage, the relay could be cycling on and off very quickly over and over, creating a little arc between the contacts that is will ultimately destroy the relay. Once the contacts start to go bad, they create resistance, wich creates heat, even if it is steadily on.
