Default Weird BOV sound with intake filter relocation

I recently relocated my intake filter a little further away from the block with an extra section of pipe. Ever since then my HKS SSQBOV (silver insert) has sounded completely different. It's no longer the loud turkey call; instead it's a much, much quieter flutter. I still hold full boost fine, I don't see any boost leaks or anything. Power feels the exact same. I don't have any hoses pinched or any that came off. It happened at the exact time of the filter relocation. Only thing I can think of is the filter is now resting almost right next to the bov (although the bov output is not aimed at the filter) and it's messing with the harmonics in some weird way.

Any thoughts?

Edit: I removed the entire intake up to the turbo inlet and did a quick run up the street.. darn thing is still in quiet mode.
